Has the world gone mad?

This photo was taken by my friend at the mall. Yes, those are dogs sitting in a stroller, while being pushed around at the mall. I hate seeing dogs carried in purses, but I hate this even more.

This is deranged. I don’t care how much of an animal lover you are. If you’re doing this, GET HELP.

We love wacky products, and it seems this is a worthy candidate. A company has created a chastity belt for dogs. Called PABS, the Pet Anti Breeding System, it is a device worn around the dog’s nether regions that prevents breeding.

Once an animal is fixed, there is no possibility of ever breeding them. Many pet owners would like to eventually breed their female dog. Others do not want to fix their pets for health reasons. The PABS – Pet Anti Breeding System will allow dog owners to exercise responsible control over when and if they breed their pet.

How about just spaying and neutering your pets? It’s not just a tag line from Bob Barker, you know. It’s good common sense.

Crazy cat ladies, beware. If you live in Dudley, Massachusetts, you’ll need to get a special license to own more than three cats.

One woman there is responsible for the new law. She owns fifteen cats, and they’re tearing up the neighborhood. Literally. She’s being charged a $100-a-day fine, and is looking to move to more cat-friendly digs.

To be a responsible pet owner, you have to be able to properly care for animals, which isn’t cheap. Shots, medicine, flea prevention, food…the list goes on and on. This also means you have to clean up after the pets, bathe them, and keep them from being a public menace. That’s where a lot of crazy too-many-cat owners get into trouble.

I suppose it’s a judgement call to determine how many is “too many” cats. But, when you reach double digits, common sense dictates that you need to reexamine your priorities.

Sometimes I think animal lovers go too far. This is a perfect example. A company in Brazil has manufactured the first sex toy for dogs.

The DoggieLoveDoll is aimed for dogs who are alone a lot of the day, presumably because no owner is around to rub against. What’s wrong with the couch?
